You can get a 2LT off ebay w/ 20inch wheels Calif edition for $34000 w/o negotiation. There is also a 2LT down from my house with dual captain chairs w/ cloth for $32000 on the sticker. You can beat them down on that and add an aftermarket 11inch jensen TV for $600. coughlin automotive pataskala ohio

I am happy to see that nobody has yet beat the LTZ for $28,900!!

My question is about the invoice price on a new vehicle. I'm not interested in a resale. The vehicles on Ebay are used and therefore are not eligible for incentives. 34,000 for a car that had an MSRP of $40,800 new isn't a bargain when I have $3,000 in GM earnings, can get $1000 lease loyalty rebate, and 0% financing for 60 months on a new vehicle. I have a close friend that is a wholesaler and can get me nearly new vehicles, at cost, but it would still end up costing more in the end without the incentives.

Hey, Kansas City -- my old stomping grounds (lived there until my early 20's).
Anyway, congrats on your deal and new ride.
At first glance, the price you got sounded high to me for KC, as I almost got one here for around $27,300. Based on ads I saw there while visiting in Feb., I briefly thought about buying a 1LT there for much lower than here in NY and driving it back.
But I see you got AWD (which I definitely would have if I still lived there), that pricey moonroof, etc. and took the 0%, so I that accounts for the difference.

We purchased the Traverse on June 29th.
I also got them to throw in an undercoating which was $400.

Does this seam like a good deal ??? I friend of a friend works at a local dealer and he told me this car does not have much mark up and that the added leather etc... is what raised the price. He says the car at this price is actually below invoice. That there losing money but that he doesnt car because he is gaining a sale to his montly total for bouneses.

So what do guys think can i haggle some more ??? If not what goodies can i ask for so they can thow in for free (Rubber mats, Key chain etc... ??

I tried to get the cash for clunkers on a Traverse (trade in my 94 Suburban) I met all of the requirements except the Traverse got an average MPG of 19 per the gov't website. The catch was a passenger car had to get 22 MPG minimum avg. so my dealer said the Traverse doesn't qualify for the program. Just check on that to be sure. If you go to cars.gov it outlines all of the requirements there.

I just looked and you are right. I guess I got screwed. My dealer said it was classified as a passenger car and I went to the website you listed and failed to notice they had the classification on it. Well, its water over the dam, I can't go back now. Thanks though and sorry for the wrong info.

are you sure you cant go back?
Would that mean youd get more $$$.
Its worth a try....

call them up-- say-- hey- you guys made a mistake- the car should be xxxxxxx

I was not going to buy until after July 1st because thats when cash for clunkers was suppose to start. When they told me that the Traverse wouldn't qualify I walked out. They called me to come back and heres the deal I got:
sticker:$32470
neg. price:$28520
So they took off $3950 and they threw in undercoating which was $400. So I can't complain. They gave me $1900 for my Suburban (which is about what I could get for it with rust holes and 170K), if I got the cash for clunkers I would have gotten another $1600 for my truck to bring it up to $3500. However, they didn't drop the price that much when I was negotiating the cash for clunkers deal. Plus, I purchased on June 29th. For the CFC you had to buy from July 1st. on. I don't feel too bad about the deal I got.

ahhh ok.. I didnt realize you had bought at end of June.

Got a new Traverse on 7/25. I think I got a good deal (except maybe on one thing)...what do you guys think?

Purchase Date 7/25/09
Car Dealership incl city/state - Woodfield Chevy, Schaumburg, IL
Model Year 09
Trim Level 2LT FWD, 7 seat, black, leather, tow pkg, sunroofs, after mkt DVD player w/ 3 wireless head sets, leather/paint protection
Sticker 39,235
Invoice - dunno
Incentives received 0%/5 year, $534 GM rebate, $1389 markdown, plus ~$1,200 negotiated off
Price Paid after incentives and before extras, $32,846.94 after rebates and trade in (03 Outlander)

Bottom line, after trade in, taxes, fees, $5K trade in (they put the negotiated value into this), 5K cash, I financed 32,058 at 0%/5yr ($534.31/mo). The only thing that kind of annoys me about it all is the after market DVD player. After we bought the car, a lady came up and asked about the typical extras. We got the leather/paint protection, and she asked about a DVD player. With 3 kids, its a no brainer, but they charged about $1120 for it (got a 10% discount for being a costco member, which I found odd, but hey whatever). When building a Traverse out online I saw that was about the factory DVD price, but I got an after market model with three "free" head phones thrown in. The player seems fine and all, but when I looked it up online, I found it selling for about $375. They said if I had best buy or whoever install it, it'd kill my electrical warranty, so I just went through them. They did a fine job and all, but it just seems quite a bit of a markup for an after market DVD player.

Bought 2009 LT Paid $24000.00 otd. Trade-in 2008 Impala LS 22,000 miles pay off $4700 they gave me $12800 for the trade in. I think we made a good deal. What do you all think?

Put $12,000 down - payments are $644/month for 72 months at 6.19%
(bought extended warranty for 5yr/60 - $0 deductable for $2200)

I am considering purchasing a Silver LT AWD with DVD w/Bose, Rear camera w/sensor & blue tooth. It also has cloth interior, 8 passenger. Does NOT have navigation, moonroof, tow etc.
2009 LT AWD:
MSRP $37,200
Rebate ($3,000)
Dealer Discount ($3,212) after 3.5hrs of negotiating and leaving almost 6 times
Total Price: $30,988
Also they threw in 5 years of oil changes & tire rotations. I'd estimate that would be around $1500 bucks. Any thoughts? I haven't got to the financing yet but am wondering if the price seems good or not???? Would be buying within the next day.
