Got a new Traverse on 7/25. I think I got a good deal (except maybe on one thing)...what do you guys think?
Purchase Date 7/25/09
Car Dealership incl city/state - Woodfield Chevy, Schaumburg, IL
Model Year 09
Trim Level 2LT FWD, 7 seat, black, leather, tow pkg, sunroofs, after mkt DVD player w/ 3 wireless head sets, leather/paint protection
Sticker 39,235
Invoice - dunno
Incentives received 0%/5 year, $534 GM rebate, $1389 markdown, plus ~$1,200 negotiated off
Price Paid after incentives and before extras, $32,846.94 after rebates and trade in (03 Outlander)
Bottom line, after trade in, taxes, fees, $5K trade in (they put the negotiated value into this), 5K cash, I financed 32,058 at 0%/5yr ($534.31/mo). The only thing that kind of annoys me about it all is the after market DVD player. After we bought the car, a lady came up and asked about the typical extras. We got the leather/paint protection, and she asked about a DVD player. With 3 kids, its a no brainer, but they charged about $1120 for it (got a 10% discount for being a costco member, which I found odd, but hey whatever). When building a Traverse out online I saw that was about the factory DVD price, but I got an after market model with three "free" head phones thrown in. The player seems fine and all, but when I looked it up online, I found it selling for about $375. They said if I had best buy or whoever install it, it'd kill my electrical warranty, so I just went through them. They did a fine job and all, but it just seems quite a bit of a markup for an after market DVD player.
