Thanks for the heads-up, T4me.
With no pin, the site still shows $2,250 total. (At least I'm happy they extended it for another month!).
I think there should be some NY Auto Show bonus cash for my region, as well, so I'm looking into that.

And maybe I can use your tip to ask a willing dealer if he will add that "private cash" into the deal.
Can you tell if I'd need a pin #, or coupon or equivalent, to show a dealer to qualify for the extra $750?

I see the same $2250 savings on my end. As weird as it sounds, I swear I got this because of my March Traverse purchase. With our Cleveland auto show bonus, the $2250 became $2750 so you should at least be able to get that if your auto show is going on. Good luck.

I was gonna ask how you got the card in the first place. Oh that IS weird -- why send a bonus incentive to people who have already bought a vehicle??

So far, I can't find anything about the NY Auto Show bonus yet. No dealers I'm in contact with have mentioned it, which seems strange.
The show doesn't start until around April 11th -- maybe it goes into affect only on that date, instead of all month, as I had thought?

I seem to recall our auto show bonus went into effect around the date of the show itself and ran actually past the show - I want to say to the end of the month, but I might be wrong (you know, "extending their offer"). At least you know that under certain conditions, this $750 extra "private cash" thingy is offered. It really raised my blood pressure yesterday I will tell you. You would think they would let you transfer this thing just to sell another vehicle quicker... If they are offering it to me then why not let someone else actually buy when I cannot?

Come on DanTheChevyMan, 'splain this to me in a way I won't throw up on my keyboard :-\

All the dealers I've asked about the NY auto show bonus just say, "uh, I dunno." What's up with that? :banghead:
You'd think that if they've been in the biz for more than, say, 1 year, they'd at least say, "Well, there's nothing yet, but it usually starts when the show opens and blah de blah and the amount ranges from $500 - $750."
(basically what you said, t4me -- and you're not even trying to sell me a car!)

Ditto again on that "private cash" thingy. I'll just chalk yours up to a clerical error.
What I would like to know is -- assuming they actually have sent some out to some people who have not bought the car yet -- how are they determining who gets them? Maybe random folks who registered on GM.com?

Gibby, did you have to pay both GST and PST on your bad boy? How did that work up NORTH?

Yes, I pay GST and PST (5 + 8 = 13%). Ouch.....but we have free Medicare!

The GM card allowance in Canada on a Traverse is $2,000.00.

We have another incentive:

(It's the all-in-one package the competition wishes it had!
The GM All In One Event includes:

3 years (or more) no charge Goodwrench Service maintenance∞
2 years of safety and security with OnStar® Directions and Connections Plan♠
2 years of listening pleasure with 130 Satellite channels from XM Satellite Radio TM† ♣ )

If we decline it we get another $1,000.00 off the list price.

The price I mentioned $34,918.65 ($28,449.28 US) is the bottom line. It includes all taxes, freight, etc.

It's about the same price I paid for a Chevy Blazer LS ten years ago. We still have it and it has 99,875 Kilometers (62,059 miles) on it.

Thanks for the conversions DuayneD.

You're welcome. Thanks for the added details.
Wow, all those extras are great -- as is the cash-out option if you decline. That's smart marketing.
Why can't GM be that creative South of the border with such things?
All they've done down here is copy-cat the "we'll take the car back if you lose your job" pledge (with some minor wrinkles) that Hyundai started 4 months ago.

Thanks, dog. Just curious, did you take 0% or the rebates?
What was your Trav's discounted price before the trade-in?

D I just brought my calculator and just went by %. went too a coulpe dealers and Green did the best they put step up running boards on the car too. I payed cash and didn't care how they came up with the price. So before taxes about $23000 something. But who knows I thought it was a fair price and I'm very happy with the car.

I hear ya, dog. As long as you're happy with the deal, that's the real bottom line.

Good deal, all the options I wanted!

I'm looking at a 2LT Traverse with DVD and 8 passenger seating, and I'm trying to figure a good price. Are the invoice prices listed by sites like Edmunds and KBB, before or after holdback? My dealer gave me an invoice price which is about $700 higher than what I was expecting. I've bought new cars in the past, and the invoice price I was quoted has always been the number that was posted online.

MSRP : $36,230
Dealer quoted Invoice: $34,924
Internet Invoice : $34,216
(all numbers includes shipping)

Am I wrong expecting to get the Internet Invoice, or is the dealer trying to screw me?
