Hi all. Great site. Best of luck with it...

I am in the market for a new SUV and am strongly considering the Traverse LTZ. This is the deal I have on the table from the dealer. Please let me know your thoughts!

TRAVERSE LTZ..

MSRP: $41255.

SUPPLIER/CREDIT UNION PRICE: $39074.

LESS REBATES ($4750)

YOUR NET COST $34,324.

ADD TAXES/INSPECTION $3420.
That is a great price and the fact that is off the Supplier price with the rebates, unless you can negotiate 0% financing, that is it, IMO.

Good Luck, dearsmiths

Just signed the deal guys...

2009 Chevrolet Traverse All-Wheel Drive LTZ 1LZ

Sticker: $42,555

My negotiated price: $35,800

Truck is loaded with Nav, back up camera etc. Didn't get the dvd entertainment center, no need...

We are debating on weather to pruchase or lease...The lease program through the credit union is actually good.

I only put tax down...

We are pleased. The dealer was very professional and accomodating...Much different when times are bad :thumb:

Does sound very good for an LTZ.
A couple of questions:
1. Is this offer still good for Feb., now that some of the rebates have expired? (can you itemize those rebates for us, by the way?)
2. What state are you in? The taxes and (state?) inspection sure sound high to me - you're sure they're not padding something in that, right?

1. I am not sure if it is still good for Feb. Although I just saw that GM is offering 0% 60 months financing...

2. I'm in NY 8.625% sales tax...gotta love it!

Thats better than the Seattle metro area - 9.3 %

On the other hand we don't have a state income tax.

Not bad prices...don't you have a trade? That should save you approx. half the taxes.

I happen to find a program LTZ with DVD, Sunroof and Trailer package stickered $42950 (pre-price increase). Sale price with 100 miles, $32995. I thought that was a good deal...basically saved the first years depreciation!!!

1. Yeah, 0% is good, if one can qualify these days with tighter credit restrictions.
2. Oh, of course, I should have known -- I'm in NY, too. (Long Island).
I sent you a PM about that, by the way.

I am looking at the Traverse or Acadia or Outlook all depending on the price I get. Since there is 0% financing, these dealers aren't coming off the sticker too much - I was offered $1500 off the sticker.

If anyone lives in NY (or NJ) and found a great price on the Traverse LT1 with the rear camera, dual sun roof and side rails, please let me know. This vehicle has a sticker of nearly $35,000 and I want in for around $30,000 with the 0% financing. Does anyone think that is possible?

Only if you get GM employee pricing, even then the mark up is not that high, check into credit union pricing availabilty in your area which gives you supplier price.

Mruane -- Someone else can feel free to correct me, but your biggest stumbling block to getting the price you want for that vehicle is is that there are probably very few cars on the lot with those exact set of options already installed.
Have many dealers you've asked so far had what you wanted in stock?
When a dealer has to scrounge around from other dealerships, or special-order what you want, your chances of getting a great deal as you seek are diminished.

Haven't bought yet..

I'm in Iowa, and have found 2 Traverses that are exactly the same, except one is Cyber Grey, and the other is Blue Metallic. They both have MSRP of 39,395. I love the internet, I can find exactly what I want. And both have the exact options and model I was looking for.

They are 2LT, FWD, with the following options, Sunroof, DVD, Trailering Package, Leather/Heated seats

The Grey offer was 34,090, the Blue offer (different dealer) was 34,164. The Grey gave this breakdown
MSRP 39395
sell it for 36840 (not sure exactly what this is over invoice, I'd say maybe $200 or so)
minus $750 bonus
minus $1500 rebate
minus $500 Davenport auto show (? that is a city in Iowa, this rebate only good until Feb 23)
equals $34090 (and again the other was 34164, without the breakdown)

Gonna get one, I'm leaning grey, my wife blue. Neither of us are hitched to a color tho. One is from a big city dealer, one of the largest Chevy dealers around and probably has 10-15 Traverses on the lot. The other is from a small town dealer in the country that only has 2 Traverses on the lot. One is 45 minutes away, the other is 55 minutes away. My closest dealer, 20 minutes away, and where I purchased my current 03 Venture, doesn't even have a Traverse on the lot I don't think.

So, what say you? Decent price? Which one should I pick-city or country? Is the blue worth an extra 70 bucks? Tee hee!

Herdcyclone,

I would think it would be the color issue, Me IMHO I like the blue but that just me. I would think you would get a better deal from the large dealer. Have you checked edmunds.com and see that the true market value is for your area. Also I have read that they have had issues about the sunroofs leaking and would check into that. The Price looks good.

That ever you purchase the best of luck to you. :thumb:

Dan --
On a Traverse, where does credit union/supplier pricing start you out, exactly? (let's say on an 1LT or 2LT). It doesn't make the initial cost (before rebates) below invoice, right?

And I presume the dealer would adjust (ie, reduce) the amount he will then take off as his discount (example, instead of a $3,000 discount from MSRP, he might offer only $1,800 off whatever the lower supplier price is).
So bottom line, how much would getting the credit union price to start with actually help get Herdcyclone from a $35,000 (already discounted price below invoice with incentives) down to $30k, for the car he's looking at?

I'm not saying it WON'T -- I'm too ignorant on all these price adjustments -- I'd just like to know HOW that could work.

Supplier/credit union pricing is different on each vehicle depending on the options and such supplier price on a 2LT MSRP of 38025 would save you about 2000 which put it close to invoice. There is not a certain percentage markup across the board on any model. Right now with the new units already showing up there already are Traverses that are the higher price on the ground so you need to take that into consideration.

When I look at Edmunds for invoice pricing, I cannot get the sticker to match up to real sticker. Could that be that the Traverses that I am looking at are a bit older and do not reflect the sticker price increase by GM?

The stickers show 39395. Edmunds sticker says it should be 40330. And the Edmunds invoice says it should be 37216.
Again my offer before rebates was 36840. So it is about 400 under current pricing invoice. If I can cross multiply, it would potentially mean the real invoice was 36353, or about 700 above invoice for the offer.

Anybody have a comment why the Edmunds sticker/invoice does not seem to match what is on the vehicle? Would it be that GM price increase?

My wife is looking at a 2009 Saturn Vue. Is there a forum similar to this for that vehicle (besides Edmunds?)

I just bought a 2LT, FWD. Sticker was 39,390. I wanted the 1.9% for 72 so no rebates for me...Traded in my 2006 Trailblazer LS, pretty basic 4x4 TB....Here is the deal that I got...

$39,390 - Sticker
$4,148 - Discount
$12,000 - Trade Value

Total before taxes, trade buyout, etc....$23,242

I found the exact same vehicle at 4 dealerships in my area...The dealership I bought it from was giving about $3,500 off with 12K for the trade. Called the other 3 and one said that they couldn't come close to that. The other said that they would be able to get a little lower and the 4th (4 hours away) told me that they would be it by $1,000. Took that offer back to the first dealership and that's what they came up with..Not quite the $1,000, but I didn't have to drive 8 hours round trip and who knows, the story may have changed when I got there.

Jasonp5,

That's a good price, I assume that your TB was paid for. I wish mine was. I owed $11,126 but they gave me 10,500. I traded in a 2005 TB LS and got the 1.9% for 72 MO w/GMAC. I got out the door for 460 a month. It is an LT2, but when I found out that it did not have the trailering package they cut a deal for the running boards for dealer cost of $385.00 + Tax, They retail for $550.00 + Tax. I put them on.

What color is yours ours is black. My wife really loves the blue tooth, the home link, the Nav, and the remote start. At least I dont have to get up before her and start her car any more
