it should easily pull off...it's held on by double side adhesive (3m tape). If it doesn't easily pull off, use fish line or something similar to get behind it. It should come right off.

I just bought a new Traverse. After getting it home, I realized the dealer attached their dealership name onto the rear tailgate next to the awd for advertising purposes. I would like to take it off. Did they just glue it on and can I easily remove it?

That is a very good question. I hope you are able to succeed with this without damaging the paint.

My new to me, 2004 Tahoe has the dealership's badging on it too. It is that decal type of sticker. My husband is going to try to get it off when it is nicer outside, but I am leary about him doing this since the automatic car wash has scratched the hood, roof, windshield and lift gate. I guess we will see what happens when he tries to get it off.

Michelle - I think something older I would be cautious at removing because would the rest of the car be sunfaded and when you remove the badge it would be nice paint underneath?

As others have mentioned, fishing line will be able to get between the letters and the body panel, and should separate most of the adhesive from the surface. You should also pick up some "Goo-Gone", which will soften and help you remove any adhesive remaining on the body panel.

 

I tell ya how I got my dealer advertisement off the back of my Traverse. I backed up into a pillar when a Japanese water beetle flew into my ear last July. Now it's all repainted and no dealer logo. :happy:

Yes, Yes, and a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the 3M tape up a bit.
If the paint has faded a bit, you can buff the paint in that area, and it should blend the paint a bit so that it's not as noticable.

 

Hair dryer, fishing line, and if you dont have goo gone- you can also try WD-40

Been there- felt that--- feels like a beetle playing drums on your eardrum---
the hooks on the beetles legs--- will make an interesting sound when theyre scratching your eardrum.......

my beetle was flying around the room- and must have crashed and fell into my ear as I slept--- image getting woken up to that.
