Replaced this taillight yesterday without removing the bumper cover. Remove the 2 bolts on the light assembly, then 2 bolts and one starhead screw underneath. Pull on the top of the fender to provide enough space to remove the old light and install the new one. Less than 15 minute job. Took longer to find the proper tool to remove the starhead screw. Water leaked into the light assembly and shorted out the LED. $501 for the light plus a $50 core charge.

moisture got into our rear taillight. the dealer said to remove the light the bumper have to be removed to get to the other screw.. terrible design IMO .. i guess since they are LED tail lights you won't need to change the bulbs since LED last for years.
My daughter's taillight on her Traverse Redline got moisture & burned out. We're unable to get a tail lamp for 3 months now. GM don't care & neither does the NHTSB so my daughter's in danger every time she goes out. No stop lamp or turn signal on rear passenger side.

Get a used one, but seal it up before installation.

We tried , a yard has one that was in an accident for $590, that cracked, he said it works, but no guarantee, we're leery!

I understand this is an old post but I couldn't find any others dealing with the 2018 Traverse tail light. I purchased my 2018 Traverse early on in Sept 2017 in central Illinois, small dealership. Last night my neighbor noticed my passenger rear outer tail light was burnt out. I since have moved to Florida but today I called the dealer I bought it from Baum Chevrolet in Clinton, Illinois. Unfortunately the sevice manager told me the tail light assembly was covered under the original 3 year warranty which expired 5 weeks ago. He did however say there was a TSB (17-NA-347) for the 2018-2020 Traverse tail light harness. Owners reported either the light going out completely or problems with the turn signal flashing rapidly. I plan to call the Estero Chevrolet dealer tomorrow to see what I need to do.
Bend over. Chevrolet wants almost $450. Just for the lite, not counting the labor
