Well it helped just a little. I know it includes those cars but how did GM come up with that? Is it an abbreviation for something or did they just make up the name?
GM used to name it's platforms like this: A-body, B-body, H-body, and so on. Now, they are using the Greek alphabet to name their platforms....it's very simple, they didn't make up the name Lambda, it's been in the Greek alphabet forever...I think. Just like fraternaties and sororities (spelling?) have used them for years, they never made them up....just used the already in place Greek alphabet.

Thanks for the replies. I did look into it last night on the Internet and found out about the greek stuff. Also maybe because in star wars they had a vehicle called the Lambda. Maybe GM thought these were cars of the future LOL!!
