One unusual thing I have noticed about my new Traverse is a high pitched whistling sound,( similar to a CO2 detector but not quite as loud ) shortly after I start the engine. The sound doesn't start until I put my foot on the brake pedal to put it in gear. I don't know how long it lasts because I only hear it in the garage when starting out. I doubt if it is anything but wondered if anyone else noticed a sound like this.

I have this too. I wouldn't say mine is a whistling sound, but rather a steady tone. It happens on COLD starts when the brakes are applied. Almost like its building pressure or something. Its a constant tone for a like 10 sec, then stops then again for another 5-7 secs. Then its over. The whole thing is over before I reach the end of my driveway. It sounds fine, so I'm not concerned. It just sounds like a little pump of some sort.
