I've got a 2LT with the entertainment package and everything is stock.... Driving down the road as my son is watching a movie, and there was a loud pop. Now, the dvd is still playing but there is no audio. In addition, the other sources appear to work via the headunit, but there's no noise from the speakers.
I turn the stereo on/off, turn off car, etc... still nothing. Finally I pull the amp fuse in the passenger wheel well... The fuse appears fine, I put the original back in... and the system works as expected.

So why would pulling the fuse and putting back in resolve the issue? Prior to me pulling it out, it was seated in the panel properly. Any thoughts?

The audio system has worked fine since, but I am curious why pulling the fuse would resolve the issue.

Thanks, wolff

Probably reset the something in the AMP.

Probably just a fluke.
Some events happened in the right order and caused the pop....

On my 2003 Trailblazer
One day I pull over to load things up quickly- flashers going- door open- and Im loading up stuff in the rear..
POP -- sound from speakers. What the heck was that?
I go look. radio is off. the clock is now reset at 12:00. all my stations are still there.
But everything worked fine.
I reset the radio.
Sometime in the future- It popped again.
in 157,200 miles- its popped twice. Just a fluke.
Radio still works. still going.
