We were rear-ended yesterday in a construction zone on the freeway. The Traverse performed very well. We were not injured (had my wife and 3 kids in the car). We were stopped when we were hit. The minivan that hit us had the airbags deploy and was surely totaled. The occupants of the minivan were taken to the hospital with complaints of neck and back injuries

I don't know the damage cost yet. The spare tire came loose from the vehicle and the bumper and tailgate are smashed, but I really expected more damage. It's nice to know we are driving such a safe vehicle

Its been a rough week for Cyber Grey Traverses! Mine got bumped in the rear by a lady backing up her van in a parking lot. $800 to replace the bumper and licence plate lamps.

Glad to hear that everyone is ok, other than a few sore muscles, especially the kids! That's one of the main reasons we got a new bigger vehicle....safety.

No complaints about the headrests. Actually all of us were just fine. We continued on to our destination after the reports were complete.

Sorry about your accident, but I'm glad to hear the Traverse protected you. It appears to be a good habit to keep your foot on the brake while stopped which prevented you from being pushed forward. BRTW, my family has no complaints about the headrests, nor do I. They seem fine to me.

I'm glad it performs well in a rear-end collision because I was in a very low speed front collision (a car drove into the front of my stopped Traverse at about 3-5 mph). It scratched the bumper and broke a small piece of the lower grill. If you were more than 10 ft away you would not know it was damaged. The initial estimate was $1100 for repairs. Today the collision shop called and said that the A/C condenser and radiator were damaged and the cost of repairs is now $3000. Fortunately it's the insurance companies additional cost but I would have hoped that at that speed there would be almost no damages expect for paint scratches. :angryfire:

Sorry to hear you had to be a guinea pig, but it's good to see how it held up. That minivan sure took a beating.
