Husband was driving home slow driving about 35mph so the light came on saying transmission running hot. We just had transmission serviced, oil change and all that so we don't know what is going on

I'm having the same problem with my 09, it had too much trans fluid added which resulted in the overheating, needs a trans fluid change.
Mine lost Communication with the trans after the change, and now we're replacing the Techm or TCM (transmission control Module).

I have the same issue. I live near some hills, it started once so I pulled over and let the engine idle but due to traffic I had to continue uphill at a fairly slow speed. The engine always runs a little hotter due to no enough air hitting the radiator but it doesn’t get too high.
now i am almost guaranteed to get the message anytime I have a long uphill climb. Fluid level seems just fine but maybe I need to get it serviced.
