We are trying to replace the 3rd row seatbelt, drivers side. i have the seatbelt but when we started to look into getting it done, noticed we have to take the interior plastic lining off to get to the seat belt and there is a cover that has an AIRBAG label on it. I'm wondering if its ok to remove this to get to the seatbelt or will the airbag deploy or mess with the sensors?? my step dad was too scared to take the cover off just in case something happened. I can not find a video replacing that particular seat belt, only the middle belt.

I would disconnect the negative battery terminal before doing the repair. It may be worthwhile to get a repair manual or alldata diy subscription to guide you on this one. You can get a short all data diy subscription for cheap. I say this because there are "supplemental" restraint systems involved (airbags and seat belt re-tractors).

LIke randyman says disconnect the battery and wait 1/2 hr. before disassembling it. That will let the system fully power down.
$20 will get you a one month subscription to alldatadiy shop manual to help guide you.

Thinking outside of the box, I took a look at Crutchfield and saw that you can request a car instruction report for the Traverse (Crutchfield Vehicle-specific Instructions). Those with a Bose system have speakers in that back panel that you need to remove for the seatbelt replacement. It has some instructions on how to remove that panel to replace the speaker. It may be worth the $10 to get that report and see what it takes to remove the panel.

For example I saw that little square box that says "airbag" on it is just a screw cover for the panel.

Just another angle to see what has to be removed (for that panel anyway).
