I have a 2014 and I’m looking at add cross bars so I can start carrying a couple of kayaks.

Can anyone help with part numbers?

by 2014- GM had deleted the C channels.
in your picture- the C channels are clearly missing.
So if you order the GM kit, it needs to have the C channels.

I was not aware that the channels were being made aftermarket.
GM had 2 roof rail kits once they deleted the channels from new cars.
1 kit was just the cross bars.
2nd kit was channels + cross bars.

so now its up to you to decide if you want OEM or aftermarket.

there are several threads on here with posts about the GM part #s

some auctions

heres an auction for the channels (these appear to be aftermarket)

(earlier model years, had the channels- so only the cross bars were required)

Ahh, ok- so there is a piece that sits down in what is up there and then the cross-bars connect to that. Seems like that first auction link should do what I need.

I really appreciate the info. I had looked at a few other threads but didn't understand what I was looking at/for. (I'm **** behind a keyboard, but put a screw driver in my hand and I get dumb. Have me talk about anything car-related and I get dumber.)

You are correct. You will be removing the bolts in your picture, putting the C channel down and reinstalling the bolts (it may include new bolts, I don't remember from mine). The channel has a small "break" in the middle of it where the cross bars get inserted. The shorter crossbar goes in the rear. Line them up where you want them and torque everything to spec. Put the piece of rubber that blocks the "break" in the C channel in. I'd leave the plastic covers for the cross bar "feet" off for a couple weeks, drive it on the highway some and even with the load on it if you can. Retorque everything then put all the beauty covers on.

Pretty straightforward install.
