For those of you with the roof rack cross rails...
Have you adjusted them (moved back and forth) and or removed them?

for those that dont know--- they are optional... ($250 I think).
so they dont come with them unless it was ordered that way.
I have also seen them on ebay already.

But Im wondering how easy it is to remove them...

WHen I ordered my 2010- I ordered the cross rails-- but told the salesman I wanted them to leave them off (theyre supposed to be dealer installed).
as I only want them on when they will be used...

but-- anyone remove them?
How hard was this to do?

It's easy to remove them. They come with a tool to loosen/tighten the "screws" where you attached them. Mine came uninstalled and I did it 15 minutes to get them set up.

One of the dealers we went to said there was some sort of cover on the back of the roof racks (Not the cross bars) that you take off and you like slide them back or something to take them off. Im not sure because we didnt install our roof racks yet (because...we dont know how)

did anyone remove the frame rails that are mounted directly on the roof?

I ask because in my Xterra, I have an already factory/pre-drilled hole w/ grommet if I wanted to install a light bar (for example) or just run wire in to the car from the roof.

Is the Traverse roof prepped for running wires through the roof?

I figured I'm going to try & remove them on the Trav anyway to see for myself but, figured I'd ask.

I guess I can also investigate that antenna... go through there if necessary.
