Anyone know what dealers charge for a replacement key?

And has anyone bought one online. You can find blanks on ebay for like $10 that say include programming instructions and all you need to do is get the key cut. Anyone have luck with doing it themselves?

I purchased a new GM key blank with the chip in it off EBay a while ago along with a flat brass key blank. It came with the instructions to sync it with the car. Seems easy enough to do but have yet to get the blanks cut. The flat blank will open the door but should not start the car. Cost me $20.00. Don't know what the dealer charges.

Any locksmith should have the key you need.

I bought several from ebay (blanks) went to a kiosk that makes copies of regular house keys and had them all cut and I did the program myself. Search youtube there are some videos if your key blanks don’t have instruction. Very easy process. Blanks were about $6 a piece and the guy cut them all for about $3 and I have a couple spares stashed at various friends homes in the event I lose my keys they can bring me a spare. All keys work perfectly.
