FM uses one antenna. SiriusXM uses another. Appears the Sirius antenna is fine. I’m guessing a grounding issue with the FM antenna? Like a corroded grounding mount for the FM antenna. Just kind of guessing based on the age of the vehicle.

Same exact issue we had a while back as XM would work perfectly and FM was Static only sometimes and then would come back on. You need to replace your antenna as it's failed or failing. I replaced mine a couple months back and my FM/AM and XM have all worked perfectly since with zero issues. Here's the one you should need since you have XM, but check your connections and if you have the two (pictured) it's the antenna for you. The replacement is a little tricky as you have to pull the headliner down a bit (it's flexible) to get to the bolt that holds the antenna in. The connections are a little difficult to release, but it took me about 20 mins and it's really not that hard. I've also linked a YouTube video on how to do it.

Hello, It is nice to have you here. I am sorry to learn of the issues you have been having with the radio in your Chevy Traverse. The FM antenna or the wiring that connects it to the radio may be the cause of the problem. Interference from nearby radio signals or other electronic devices is another possibility. If you haven't already, check the connections and wiring to see if there are any obvious problems. If not, take it to a professional for more information on how to fix it. I wish you luck.
