Pcv valve replacement

My 2011 has 130000 Miles on it now.i was planning on changing the pcv valve and was curious if anyone has done this.im also going to drain coolant and transmission fluid.i changed plugs at 105000 and drained transmission fluid but only got 4 quarts to drain so I know it needs it again.it runs as good as new and I would like to keep it that way.any info would be greatly appreciated.

There has to be some sort of vent for the crankcase.
There is a non-serviceable metered orifice fitting on the block with a hose running to the induction hose before the throttle body. Much discussion on this hose and fitting as that is the source of the oil puddle in the intake tube. This fitting can get clogged and the Camaro owners have come up with a mod (drilling larger holes in the fitting) to improve things. There is also an insulated tube now available to keep the oil vapors from condensing so fast and coating the throttle plate which causes poor running during cold weather.
Ahh, very interesting. I wonder if mine is clogged, that would explain why the front main is leaking badly. Thanks, I will look into this some more, although I cant post how I will fix the problem
No luck finding the pcv valve so I am taking it back and getting a refund.i only got about a gallon and a half of antifreeze to drain out.i put 4.5 quarts of transmission fluid in it .hopefully it will be good to go for a while longer.thanks for all of your advice guys.
Question: When replacing the spark plugs in my wife's 2010 Traverse, I consequently lost the PVC 90 degree fitting that goes directly on the top of the intake manifold (you can see it prominently when you remove the plastic engine cover). The fitting goes to a rubber hose that goes to the rear of the engine, near the firewall. What is this fitting called, and does anyone have a part number so that I can order it?
Nevermind. It's the intake manifold vacuum fitting.
ahh- ok, I was just looking thru my pics to see if I could find an image of it.
I dont see it in the parts diagram..

Gah, it's actually the engine crankcase ventilation tube. I actually just need the fitting that goes onto the intake manifold, but the fitting comes with the tube. Part number 12630280.
guess there is a PCV inlet (not technically a valve).

Hello everyone, UPDATE there is a PCV located on the firewall side of the engine. I have attached a few pictures. I used a small vise grip so I could wiggle it side to side and up to remove it. As you can see it was clogged. Hope this ends the debate. BTW 2011 Traverse LT.

There is no debate. That is not a PCV valve it's a metered orifice. Clean it out and look inside, no valve mechanism. This is not to say that it doesn't require maintenance, your pictures and many others have proved those clog up and cause increased oil consumption due to higher velocity keeping the suspended solids... well... suspended.
I stand corrected and after buying a new one it was obvious but it was to late as I installed it..

No big deal... this is one of those "looks like a duck and quacks like a duck so it must be a duck" but on the inside it's actually a cat.

They look just like so many PCV valves I've encountered I assumed the same thing until members on this forum (praise @rbarrios ) corrected me. It clearly fails all the same, so is it really any better?
Does anyone know where I can get the o-rings on the other plastic pcv type elbow fittings? They sell them complete but for $21.99 I passed.

Well like said- looks like one... they are even listed as PCV in the parts catalog.
O- rings.
Ive seen packages or assorted O-rings at auto parts.
Yes it does it’s on left side or side closer to the fore wall
Every single internal combustion engine as a pcv valve
Every single internal combustion engine as a pcv valve
Every engine has "PCV" - Positive Crankcase Ventilation, but it's not always a "valve." In our case, it's just a fitting with a couple of holes in it. See pics in Post #31.
The 3.6 L V-6 does not have a PCV valve.
My 2017 seems to have a hollow plastic Pcv valve ,they also list metal one, that had to be modified in th past. I my self ould like to k ow whee the metal valve is.
Any one have stock wheelocks on their steel wheels, and had trouble using the key to unlock them?
