I finally decided to replace the struts on the Traverse. They've been written out for a while, just never got around to it.

They were knocking and had zero absorbing properties left. The front end would almost bang when going over sizeable bumps. The steering wheel would shake violently when you went over those same bumps.

I don't drive the Traverse much anymore, so it always slipped to the back of my mind to replace them.

I bought new Quick struts from 1A Auto and also bought new socks for the rear.

The install was a breeze. I was done in about 5 hours, which included a supper break and my 8 year old helping me.

The Traverse drives like the day it was new. What a difference.

Tomorrow it goes in for an alignment, even though it drives straight and true.

As you can see in the pictures, all the fluid from the strut has coated the outside of the strut.

I now have 190,000km on the Traverse and everything still works.

i replaced mine at 100,000.
No leaks.

But the new ones made the steering feel like the tires were turning super smooth.
the front end had a lighter feel to it.

The front end feels much better. I got the alignment done this morning. The toe was out, everything else was fine.
