There's no diode when you hook directly to the battery, so why would you need a diode going through the cigarette lighter?

The Battery Tender, and frankly all battery chargers have that built in. No worries.

I did some research and confirmed that the chargers do have a built-in diode to prevent back-feed drain. Thank you.
