Dash cam stays on because

Dash cam stays on because the plug does not cut power. I know in some cars it stays on for a few minutes after locking the doors. But i have checked for hours and it just stays on.

Is there anything i can check to fix this.

Its the 12v cigarette charger inside the center console.

theres folks who have tapped into the Onstar power wire in the rearview mirror. It is switched power.
THis was in the 1st gen model.
I dont know if its the same in 2nd Gen.

Many dash cams like mine have cigarette lighter adapters that drop the 12 volts to the 5 volt mini USB plug they use for cam power......usually these cams power input is a mini USB port used for PC interface to download from, a mini SD card. If so you can use a mini USB to USB cable leaving the two (red/black) power wires and cutting the two data wires to power the cam and plugging into a USB port that is not active with the ignition off.
