I have a 2023 Traverse Premier. In this post, I've detailed my experiences in dealing with various profile settings. 1 thing I don't like is the way the passive door lock setting works. It's based on a timer (about 7 seconds) and makes no adjustment for distance. I got out of the driver's seat and went to get something out of the passenger rear door. It locked before I got there, even though I was never more than 1ft from the vehicle. Another time, I got out to clear some snow off the headlights, and it auto-locked and chirped the horn right in my ear
There is a safety system in place that will not allow the door handle button to unlock the door if the fob is more than about 6ft away from the car. This prevents a stranger on the passenger side of the vehicle to get in as the driver approaches the car.
Why not use this existing system to determine when the fob-holder is at least 6ft away from the car, and THEN lock it? U want it to lock when the driver is walking away from the vehicle, not when they're standing right next to it!
Forward collision avoidance settings (on my vehicle at least) are global, so that both profiles have the same settings. I think this is dangerous, becuz 1 driver may change the settings without the other driving knowing. Expecting the vehicle to behave a certain way and then it behaves in a different way while driving is a serious safety hazard.
