I wouldn't use ANY version of Dex VI. I'd use this.
Your choice as both are great fluids, but definitely use Synthetic. I use the Dexron 10-9243 in my 2019 Traverse. Mobil 1 is also excellent. I have heard that Mobil makes the Syn for GM, but can't verify it, but in any case you are best with the Synthetic - engine as well. Hope this helpsRock Auto offers two versions of Dexron VI for use in my 2016 Chevrolet Traverse: P/N 88865601/10-9394 (Non-Synthetic) and P/N 88865549/10-9243 (Synthetic).
Which should I go with, the non-synthetic or the synthetic?
Go to ANY GM forum.... (Chevy, GMC, Silverado, Camaro, Corvette, Cadillac, etc.......etc....) and type in Torque Convertor shudder or failure and 1000's of posts will pop up.
4 spees, 6 speeds, 8 speeds, 10 speeds......all kinds of usage. Stock soccer Moms, Hot rodded stuff, heavy haulers, and everything in between
The only common thread? Dex VI.
No thanks. Allison forbids it, so they came up with their own fluid. Good enough for me.
All models, or just specific model transmissions? Just curious. Also, when you switched over from Dexron, did you do just the two regular drain and refills or more to get as much of the Dexron out as possible?
