I noticed that while driving that the dash lights are not bright enough and that my headlights are on during a sunny day. I rarely notice that sometimes, the dash lights will be bright and easy to read, but this has become more rare. When the dash lights are dark and headlights are on, I have covered the sight sensor to simulate dark and there is no change.

Has anybody ever replaced one of these before? It looks simple, but is it as simple as using a trim tool to remove the upper dash?

Make sure you get the right part. The manual heat models use just an ambient light sensor and automatic heat models use a "sun load sensor." The first has 2 wires, the 2nd has 4 wires.

2011 PN's:
Ambient light sensor: 13498957
Sun Load Sensor: 13498958
