2017 Traverse LTII Driver Information Center is very very (too) dim...
I am talking about the small screen within the cluster that shows the odometer, compass, trip A and B and other messages. The rest of the instrument cluster illuminates fine. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes the letters and numbers are bright and other times it looks as if the screen is turned off but if you look really really closely you can see a faint glow that the screen is on and you can read the information on the screen, just really really dim...much much dimmer than it would be at night time.
Is this a known problem? I'm thinking connection/ground problem. Does this display have light bulbs that illuminate them or are they self-contained as far as emitting light is concerned?
My gas gauge is wrong (my wife ran out of gas when it showed 3/4 full) so I am wondering if this is a general problem with the entire instrument cluster? Everything else in the cluster seem to work ok.
Anyone have any ideas on this or have a similar problem?
