My 2014 shutters when going up hill or when accelerating at high speeds. I've read it's most likely the torque converter. Should I replace it or trade the vic in? I've read some have replaced the torque converter and the vic still shutters!

I am not really sure how to answer since I have a 2019 that does not shudder. Yours is ~9 years old now, do you like it so far? Is there anything in the newer model that you wish you had? If you need to replace the TC, can you do it yourself or would you take to a shop? I just saw another post where someone R&Rd his TC, maybe you can reach out to him and find out the pros and cons.

I normally fix my own stuff, but I think I may lean toward trading the car if I had transmission problems that were severe enough to strand the car. I only have one car now, so cannot leave it in pieces in the garage while I attempt to fix it. I would consider it real hard though because those new ones are expensive.

It only has 87,000 miles. We bought certified pre owned with about 35,000 miles. Just started the shutter thing last year. We replaced the motor mounts and the car is driving better but still has a slight shutter (used to be a more aggressive shutter). Big family so we might trade in for a van or keep it and see what happens.

You have a 2014, so I'm not sure of your options. I know on the 2nd Gens folks have used a Mobil1 fluid to correct shudder. Have you investigated switching the transmission fluid?

I suppose someone with a Gen1 could weigh in on this.

That would be cheaper than replacing the TC or buying a new one.
