At 65,000 miles I have had to replace the alternator ($1,000),

can you describe the breakdown?
how much did the shop charge for the part and how much was labor?

I posted a thread on a seller on ebay- small shop that is selling NEW OEM DENSO alternators. SUPER low price.
Currently at $79.95!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! free shipping.
This is an incredible price.
USED remanufactured units sell for $150
brand new ones $300-$400.....
USED take off are in the $50-70 range.

at the cheap price I bought one and have it sitting in my garage for when the need arises....
128,000 and knocking on wood.. no alternator needed yet.
