As I've been doing a bunch of work on my 2012 Traverse lately, I had been taking the oil cap on and off a bunch to take the cover off. On one of these times, the oil fill tube came off the valve cover instead of the cap coming off the tube. When this happened, some rubber material tore off with the tube. I can't tell if this is a sealant of some sort meant to seal that connection to the valve cover or if it's just a high temp coating of the valve cover. My question is does the oil fill tube have something that is meant to seal that connection? It looks like an o-ring would be more appropriate, but there wasn't one installed previously. I may update this post later with a video to point out exactly what I'm looking at. And thanks in advance for what help you can provide.
