I have a 2010 LS and about a year ago, I noticed some unusual noises from the engine compartment. Once I checked for codes it was no surprise to find I had the dreaded p0008/p0017 codes. Fast forward to the present and I am in the midst of replacing the chains and caught a mistake I made and hope someone can help.
I started by aligning the old chains in stage 2 (or so I thought) and proceeded to remove the bank 2 chain and components. Proceeded to attempt to put chains in stage 1 but before I could get there, it felt as though when I turned the crank it was binding so I stopped. I started double checking everything when I discovered that when I thought I was in stage 2, I was only half there (so to speak) and both cams on bank two had the flat portions that are supposed to be pointed up when correctly aligned were pointing down.
What are my options at this point? Can I rotate the cams on bank 2 individually so they are in the correct position? Do I have to reattach the stage2 chain?
I greatly appreciate any help y'all can provide!!!!
