2018 premier with 18k miles. Has a stutter at approximately 25, 37, & 44 mph. Dealer did a flush and disconnected the battery for a relearn of the transmission at 14k miles. Drove it and the issue continues. Took the car in to have it addressed and the tech needs to pull the transmission and see what’s wrong inside. No time frame on the repair. I will post updates.

Let us know. I have similar issues but canít get the techs to do anything...they say canít reproduce even though they went with me last time and when I happened they didnít feel anything.

Dealer said they pulled the transmission & then his tech quit. He got us a loaner for us drive and has ordered a “collar”. He has indicated that Chevy wants him to repair rather than replace the transmission. The time frame we are following is rather annoying, but I am unsure if there is a remedy.

No fun on a new vehicle to have the transmission out and digging inside to fix it. You will probably end up with some issues after I would not be surprised. Keep us updated.

Traverse 2017, chevy Uplander 2009 LT short wheelbase, Impala 2003, jeep cherokee Laredo 1990, chevy citation 1984 2.8 v6, vauxhall Firenza1972, rambler american 1964 model 330, vauxhall velox 1956 rebuilt, NSU Prinz 1961 2 cylinder micro car rebuilt, Renault Dauphine 1960 rebuilt, ford prefect 1952 ( english car with non hydrolic brakes rebuilt. Honda 1986 motorcycle in new condition and 13 travel trailers from a Boler 1300 to a Rockwood mini lite 20 feet.

Please keep us updated. I will do the same. Our 2018 Redline is doing the exact same thing at 21k mi. Its being dropped off at the dealer in 2 days.

That is weird...

Shouldn't be very hard for the dealer to hear. Show them the video, this way they can't deny that it's not happening.

I posted this in the other "Stutter" thread too:

Our 2018 Redline with 20,000 miles was at the dealership yesterday and we were told this is becoming a very common issue as apparently the transmission fluid GM used isn't all that compatible with these new 9-spd trannys. Here's the official write up and "repair" procedure:

"Bulletin 18NA-091, as per bulletin, reprogrammed. Set-up trans control module, and serviced fluid. Give at least 200 miles before evacuation per bulletin. Seemed to fix immediately, Reprogramming code 18YN25761211."

It doesn't shudder between 1-4th gears anymore, so hopefully it stays that way. Apparently we really are GM's beta testers, haha. I guess its the price we pay (on top of the $45k) for getting 27mpg in a full-sized SUV.

Knowing what's inside a automatic trans and years ago the same thing happened to me. It seems like a piston sticking in the valve body. The shifts are so easy and light that it acts like a stuttering valve. What I did was to shift to low and several time full accel for about 50 to 100 feet and coast back down. Do this several times and see if the stuttering goes away. It seemed to work with mine. I have a 2018 Red Line with very low miles, under 10,000.

We got the car back yesterday. Enough that my wife was surprised how high she sat in the traverse over the Malibu she was loaned. They had previously done the flush with no change in stutter. They replaced parts in the valve body & pistons. The Tech report said there were parts “broken” likely causing stickage. I asked specifically what was replaced and was given double speak, the work order has multiple part numbers and codes with no specific nomenclature used. Now it is learn mode for 1500 miles so we will drive the car. I notice a slight hesitation however there is no longer a stutter. Fingers crossed that this is the end of the issues.
