2019 Traverse, 3.6 extended idle feature?

Is there a way to override the engine shutting off after idling in park for a while?
Please don't confuse this with the auto stop/start feature.
When we need the vehicle to be parked, in park and running with the a/c on, it just won't stay running for more than a few minutes. If we have both fobs with us, we can leave one fob in the car and that has extended the run time to a random 32 to 50 minutes.

As far as I know and info in literature....there is no timing circuit for automatic shutoff upon extended idling other than the timed auto shutoff after using a remote start..

My best guess is there may be a protection circuit that is shutting down the engine to prevent the cat convertors and down stream O2 sensors from being destroyed by excess heat....cats generate additional heat and depend upon a moving exhaust flow to reduce their temperature. Length of time running with the fob in the car may be affected by outside temperatures.

This shutting down happens on 2 of my friends Fords and we asked the Chevy salesman about it. He said that yes the Chevys also shut down, but you can opt out of it in the personal feature menu. Now he can't figure out how to do it. I can't help but think that the other models are programmed the same way, and if a canine police cruiser Impala needed to idle all day, it would be able to do it. Hopefully we can find a way to correct this problem. I hate to have to trade it with 1100 miles.

I don't know if this is helpful but here is some wording from the 2019 Traverse owner's manual. It starts on page 231. I don't see any mention of overriding this "feature" other than shifting out of park as noted below.

Extended Parking

It is best not to park with the vehicle running. If the vehicle is left running,be sure it will not move and there is adequate ventilation.

If the vehicle is left parked and running with the RKE transmitter outside the vehicle, it will continue to run for up to half an hour. If the vehicle is left parked and running with the RKE transmitter inside the vehicle, it will continue to run for up to an hour. The vehicle could turn off sooner if it is parked on a hill, due to lack of available fuel.

The timer will reset if the vehicle is taken out of P (Park) while it is running.
