Since I traded in my 2010 on a 2015, I was wondering how many others liked their Traverse/Acadia/Encore enough to get another??

We had purchased a 2010 Traverse LTZ back in April of 2010. I started reading and following about all of the problems such as water pump, A/C, and the wave plate failures and NO help from GM at the time unless you were still under warranty. I really didn't like reading about how many owner's were being forced to pay out of pocket for the similar and common problems, which GM was aware of, but not doing anything about it.

So after at least 45 years of always having one if not more GM vehicle in the garage, I sold the Traverse and bought an Acura MDX. I wanted nothing to do with a company that didn't help their customers when it was not a customers fault that GM was using defective parts! Although I didn't have any of the failures, and I did have a GMPP extended warranty, I still said good-bye to GM.

Since then GM is helping with water pumps, wave plates, and power steering pumps. There are still numerous common failures such as the A/C evaporators, lines, actuators, power steering racks, and several others that GM has not yet stepped up to the plate to help with. But because of the extended warranties and payment assistance they are now doing for some of the previous problems, I have come back to GM, but only with one in the garage, not both of them.

I am leasing a 2015 LT Traverse for 36 months with 36000 miles. I wanted to make sure I was covered under factory bumper to bumper warrant for any repairs needed during my lease period. I will NOT purchase the vehicle and will NOT exceed the 36000 mile limit. So far with just about 12 months and 12000 miles on it, everything has been fine except for some running board brackets that lost their powder coating and started rusting within the first 4 months. Replaced under factory warrant since they were dealer installed.

Not sure if I will stay with another GM when the lease is up, as I also have a Ford and really like that one. No problems at all with it or the previous Ford it replaced.

I owned an 09 Traverse for five years and never had a need for any repairs. Traded for a 14 Acadia because I wanted the power lift gate and liked the styling better. After a year and a half, no shop time and I really enjoy the vehicle.
