My second row smart slide seat no longer works.  My car is one month old.  It appears the bottom seat cushion is not flipping up as it should so the whole mechanism is locked up.  Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?  Of course it is under warranty so I will take it in for repair, but seriously, one month?

My second row sliders can be difficult to move sometimes if they were not locked in position correctly.  What I do is make sure they are seated all the way by pushing on the bottom cushions til I hear a click.  Once all seated then release the slider and push the seatback with a good amount of force and the seat bottom SHOULD pop up.  If it doesnt then check and make sure nothing is under the seat preventing it from sliding or in the track preventing movement.

Check the floor tracks and see if there is something stuck in them.

That could cause the seats to stop working.

Yep, and make sure the darn floor mats aren't preventing the seat from sliding correctly. I still don't understand why the floor mats don't have some kind of cutout in them there, with a nice brush style cover for the seats to easily slide without bunching up the mats.

The dealer fixed my seat today.  The cable that controls the smart slide mechanism was not run properly resulting in the malfunction.  @Michelle, While I'm glad the seat is fixed I'm still frustrated that I've had two warranty repairs in less than two months (The first was an engine cover that was making a high-pitched whistle sound).  I know these are "minor" problems but I kinda expected a brand new $30k+ car to be trouble free, at least for a while.

@rbarrios, yes the plastic engine cover.  Apparently there is a service bulletin on this.

hmmm, have not seen the bulletin.
Im wondering how the cover could whistle...
Maybe airflow.
Its held in place by the oil cap and a few grommet type rubber thingys underneath.
I wonder if theyve made changes to the covers.
I dont remember seeing anything different about the cover on my brothers 2012.

my 2010 underside is shown below.

@rbarrios, I was surprised it was the engine cover too since it seemed to be coming from the windshield, but after they replaced the engine cover the noise has disappeared.
