Towing expense reimbursement due to recalled part

Hello,

Last Friday my wife's Traverse broke down (loss of coolant) and I had to have it towed to the dealership. The failed part was on the recall list and I was wondering if Chevy will reimburse me the towing fees since it's Chevy's fault the vehicle broke down. I am currently waiting on a return call from the dealership but this place has been known to take a while so I figured I would ask this community. Thanks!

Sounds to me like a more than reasonable request. Let us know how it goes.

I believe if it's under warranty, then you are covered.

The vehicle was 200 miles over warranty so it wasn't covered. The cost of fixing the vehicle was free due to the recalled part. In my mind it should be covered but rarely anything is free anymore. If it wasn't for the defective part my wife wouldn't have been stranded on the side of the road in freezing weather.

Re: Towing expense reimbursement due to recalled part

Of course, 200 miles over, never 200 miles under is it? In any case, like I said if the part is under warranty, then I would imagine the tow should be covered. At least I would complain that they cover it anyway.

If I was your wife and found out that you knew about the recalled part but didn't take my car in to have it fixed. It wasn't you ass stuck on the side of the road!
