Auto Locking Doors - after exit?

Guys,

My wife and I bought a new 12' Traverse (LTZ) a month ago and I've very happy as we love this car. Quick question? Does the Traverse have an option to Lock the doors after exit automatically after a predetermined time? My wife's former Suburban (04') and my BMW have this option incase you forget to lock the doors. The DIC option only seems to be for locking/unlocking the doors when putting the car in DR or REV. Thanks for your help.

Hey Dave, on my 09 Traverse, after you shut the car off and take out the key, you can depress the door lock button on the driver's side door one time. You should hear a chime, and then about 7 seconds after all of the doors to the Traverse have been closed, all of the doors will lock and the horn will sound. Other than that, I don't know of anything else.

mr 803 is correct-

there are 2 options...

1 option press the button 2 times- it locks all doors right away.
....

the other options is press the lock button 1 times (double check the 1 press vs 2 press)...

but it will chime....
the vehicle will wait until the LAST door is closed. After that in about 5 seconds ALL locks with close and the horn will sound.

@Dave00, if you would like to send me a private message with the VIN of your vehicle, I would be happy to look into this for you.

I know what you are talking about...a very handy feature, but the Traverse doesn't have it.

Another feature with the autolocks that our Ford Focus had was that if the vehicle is locked and you press the unlock button you have 1 minute to open the door, otherwise the doors will re-lock...because it assumes you hit "unlock" by accident on the remote.

Thanks Quantum, that's what I figured. Guess I'll have to use the Iphone Onstar app to lock the doors remotely if for some reason we can't remeber if we locked the car or not.
