Squeaky front drivers seat

I have been reading the posts here for a while and have found some common problems in searching and not having to post, but I have not seen this one yet. I have recently purchased a 2011 Traverse LTZ and my drivers seat has a squeak to it as I hit some bumps in the road or just re-adjust myself. It is rather annoying as it is getting more frequent. My vehicle has 1,200 miles on it and this began at about 600 miles. I am inquiring as if there is a quick fix to the problem if anybody has had it I would rather do it myself than be inconvienced by going to to the dealer for such a minor problem.

Re: Squeaky front drivers seat

as answered in another post on this forum, drivers seat with power adjustment is sometimes squeeking when driving. Solution is to have dealer tighten mounting and attachment points to eliminate squeek. I had the problrm and not had a squeek since tightning!

Re: Squeaky front drivers seat

I also have the problem with a squeaky driver's seat, with 700 miles on my new Traverse. I was told to take it back to the dealer, but haven't yet found the time to do so. I'm guessing there was a batch of seats with faulty springs. I don't see how tightening the seat could solve this problem, as was suggested by someone. Glad to know I'm not the only one with the problem, although I feel your pain. It's annoying.

I have the same problem which started at about 1,000 miles - I now have 3,800. I've found that it is actually the part that my seatbelt buckles into. If I move that toward the back a tiny bit with my hand, then the squeak seems to stop...........but I have to do it several times a week......

Re: Squeaky front drivers seat

I had my 11 Enclave into the dealer yesterday to have the drivers seat tightened as it would move when taking off or stopping. It wouldn't tighten so they have a new track on order. I didn't ask them to check the passenger seat, guess I should of so when I go up next week, or whenever the part comes in, I will have them check that one as well.

Hi lizziewizzie, has your dealership had any ideas as to what might be causing this noise?

Thanks,
Laura

Re: Squeaky front drivers seat

I purchased my brand new 2011 Traverse LTZ at the end of August. We're talking less than 10 miles when we first test drove it. After driving it home from the dealership, which was a bit farther than I would normally have gone for a car (60 miles), I noticed my drivers seat squeaky. I had to go back for something else a couple days later so they said they'd take a look. Supposedly, it was a part that wasn't put on properly at the manufacturer. They ordered it and fixed it. Now, I'm starting to hear it again, so soon. It's not quite as annoying as it was the last time, it is more noticeably when you're turning, or when you're slightly shifting your weight. I'm worried that this is just going to get worse. I haven't taken it back yet or talked to them. I decided to google it first, and was disappointed to find so many posts related to it. With the exception of that issue, I simply LOVE my traverse and am happy I purchased it.

Re: Squeaky front drivers seat

Had the infamous squeaky drivers seat. This was readily observed by yours truly when applying the brakes or when shifting my weight in the seat like when one repositions themselves in the seat.

"Customer rports squeaking noise from L/F seat bottom when stopping or shifting weight in seat. See prev RO..."
CAUSE: Poor fit.
Driver or passenger seat adjuster track replacement.
Re and re L/F seat track adjustor and tighten pivots.

The above is what ultimately fixed the issue in my case. It took more than one visit to get it solved. It is most likely that adjustments and/or lubrication would be performed on an initial visit for this problem by the "trim" technician.

Re: Squeaky front drivers seat

had the squeeky drivers seat in our 2011 LTZ with about 2000 miles on it.

Here's what the repair order said they did:

MFG CHANGE TO THE FRONT SEAT MOUNT ALLOWING A MINOR AMOUNT OF
MOVEMENT IN THE SEAT TRACK{DRIVER'S SEAT}. INSTALLED MYLAR TAPE AND
CLIPS AS OUTLINED IN PI0521.

we've put another 1000 miles on it since then and have not heard the squeek.

Re: Squeaky front drivers seat

I have a 2012 Traverse 1LT.

4000 miles, squeaking noise in passenger seat when occupied. I've read the previous entries on the forum, then took vehicle to the dealer and reported the problem to them. The mechanic, removed the seat, applied some silcone spray in pivot joints and added some spot welds. so far so good!!!
