Headlight Swap Question?

My wife has a '14 Traverse LT AWD. The drivers side headlight has developed quite a bit of moisture on the inside of it. Happens everytime I wash it, driving it in the rain, etc. I can't find any cracks or leaks, but obviously something is going on. My question...it looks like there is quite a bit involved to replace the headlight assembly...and the cost of 1 headlight is crazy! If I'm going to tackle this job, maybe I can change both assemblies, will a halo or projector style headlight from another year fit this? if not is there an aftermarket option? Maybe that style won't work without other modifications (wiring, etc)? Thanks for any help!

have you tried looking for some used ebay units?

in the meantime--- if you will replace--- you may want to just drill a hole on the bottom of the lamp to drain water...
and then search for a replacement lamp at a reasonable cost.

I have searched ebay, $250-$300+ used. Thought about drilling a hole. Probably will anyways. No luck at local junkyards either.

Thoughts on drilling a small hole in the housing? If so, where would be the best place? There is not actually water sitting in the bottom, just moisture on the inside of the lens.
