2010 Traverse Will Not turn over occasionally

Wife's 2010 Traverse LT will on occasionally will not turn over, all of the light work the radio works, then after a few minutes it will start, then will throw a check engine code and say the awd is turning off stabilia track off and the back up alarm will not work. And of course after she drives it all the codes go away and i cannot read them, I have replaced the battery , the throttle body and the pcv valve . Also the drivers door lock control will not unlock the passanger side door. I do not think the door locks are connected to the starting issue but i have no idea to be sure. I am thinking maybe Body control module. Any suggestion.

If the door locks/unlocks from the passenger side then it is probably just the switch on the drivers door. Does it lock or just not unlock? It can probably just be cleaned if it performs one of the functions.

Before you replace the BCM, check out any electrical connections on the fuse box under the hood, some have bad solder joints which have led to unexplained problems. After that look at the fuse box under glove compartment for possible water issues and corrosion.

And then if you don't find anything there consider this.

Although Engine control module and Body control modules are separate units.

Re: 2010 Traverse Will Not turn over occasionally

Thanks for the info I will give it a shot and see what i find in the fues boxes, as far as the door lock it will unlock every other door just not the passenger side door. I was also thinking a bad ground could cause some of these problems but i have yet to find a ground strap or i am looking in the wrong spots. Also has anyone purchased a BCM for gm parts direct and if so does it come already flashed for the correct VIN . Thanks again

Also check the under dash fuse panel area for water intrusion as well (passenger side)

I looked at the pricing on those and they usually state if they need programming to the vehicle. These did not, so I assume they are ready to go in any compatible vehicle. But....... someone on a previous post states that they do need to be programmed. I am not sure if they mean the Engine control module or BCM.

The body control module has to be programmed when installed so regardless your at the point you need to go to the dealership for the repair.
It's not a direct swap out part. VIN and TACH info needs to be transferred.

Re: 2010 Traverse Will Not turn over occasionally

With the check engine light coming on there should be codes somewhere in the PCM. They should stay in memory for dozens of key cycles if the problem fixes itself. May have a PCM issue if it's having problems with that. Maybe a different scanner can be used to prove that. There may be some codes that a cheaper scanner won't see.

When the PCM sees a problem the ABS/Stability and 4x4 will shut off and they may set a code pointing to who told them to shut off.

When you say turn over do you mean it won't crank the engine or it cranks but won't start?

On the door lock, if it doesn't work from either switch it can be a lock motor which is the door latch. Two of the six wires to it can be checked for voltage or just try a new latch.

When she turns the key nothing happens, all lights radio everything works fine. Then after 10-15 min it will start up and throw the codes but like i said everything goes away after she drives it. This is the second time it has happened once about a month ago and then this past monday.
