Re: Chrome Fuel Door

Nope I'm not a fan of the Chrome fuel doors.

Which is add because I'm a chrome junkie.

Re: Chrome Fuel Door

I've decided that my NEXT vehicle should have a fuel door on the right side - both sides would be better. Out West here where almost everybody pumps their own gas, the lines are always longer for vehicles filling on the left side. I don't really care if the fuel door is chrome or not.

Re: Chrome Fuel Door

IMO, chrome fuel door look tacky, and out of place on any car.

Re: Chrome Fuel Door

No matter what side your fuel door is on, there pump you need is never available. The Traverse is on the left, my Escape is on the right.

What I found out recently, the hose on the pump is long enough to wrap around to the other side of the vehicle, so I use any pump that is available. Snug up close to the pump and drag the hose around the back side. I use one hand to pump, the other hand keeps the hose off the window/paint.

Re: Chrome Fuel Door

that's what I do at Costco stations, the pump hose extends out to allow fueling on opposite side of pump.
That's the only gas station I ever encounter line ups at, since their fuel is always cheaper.

Re: Chrome Fuel Door

I would rather wait to fill up than take the chance of scratching the paint.
